Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PC Desktop Recorder website, account system, checkout, downloads, licensing services, update services, support channels, and the PC Desktop Recorder software. PC Desktop Recorder is provided by PC Web Systems LLC (“PC Web Systems,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using the website, creating an account, purchasing a license, downloading the software, installing the software, or using PC Desktop Recorder, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or software.

1. Product purpose

PC Desktop Recorder is Windows desktop recording software designed to help users record screen activity, audio, webcam overlay, and related output such as MP4 video and MP3 audio files. Recording output is saved locally on the user’s own PC unless the user chooses to move, upload, share, or send the files elsewhere.

2. Accounts

You may need an account to purchase, download, register, update, or receive support for PC Desktop Recorder. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials secure, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

You are responsible for activity under your account, including downloads, license registration, device management, support requests, and changes made through your account dashboard.

3. Purchases and payment processing

Purchases may be processed through Square or another authorized payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers, bank account numbers, CVV codes, or full payment credentials on our servers. Payment processors may provide us with order, transaction, payment status, amount, currency, and related verification information needed to complete your purchase and issue a license.

Prices, discounts, product availability, and promotional offers may change at any time before purchase. A purchase is not considered complete until payment is verified by the payment processor and accepted by our system.

4. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any required fees, PC Web Systems grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use PC Desktop Recorder for your personal or business recording needs.

The license is for use with the product, version, edition, account, and device limits associated with your purchase or trial. License keys, serial numbers, download tokens, update access, and account access may not be sold, rented, leased, shared publicly, transferred, sublicensed, or used to bypass license restrictions.

5. Device registration and license checks

PC Desktop Recorder may require registration and periodic server checks to verify license status, device eligibility, update eligibility, and download access. The software may be locked, limited, or denied access to protected features if registration cannot be verified, the license is revoked, the device is not authorized, or the account is not eligible.

Device identifiers used for license checks are intended to help prevent unauthorized use and license abuse. They are not intended to collect recording content.

6. Downloads and updates

Protected downloads and updates may use short-lived tokens, account verification, license verification, package validation, file hashes, digital signatures, and other security checks. You agree not to bypass, tamper with, scrape, automate abuse of, or interfere with our download or update systems.

Executable installers and updates may be flagged by browsers, antivirus tools, or operating systems while reputation builds for a new file, certificate, version, or download path. We may provide publisher information, file name, version, and hash information to help users verify legitimate downloads.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the website, account system, downloads, support services, and software only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws, contracts, workplace policies, platform rules, and privacy obligations.

You are solely responsible for determining whether you have the right to record screens, windows, audio, webcam video, meetings, calls, applications, websites, documents, or other content. You are responsible for obtaining any required consent before recording or sharing recordings.

8. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

9. Recording content and user responsibility

PC Web Systems does not claim ownership of recordings you create with PC Desktop Recorder. You retain responsibility for your recording content, including storage, backup, deletion, publication, sharing, privacy, and legal compliance.

We do not monitor or review your local recordings. If you voluntarily send recordings, logs, screenshots, or other files to support, you are responsible for removing private, confidential, or sensitive information before sending them unless that information is necessary for support.

10. Support

Support may be provided through contact forms, account support tickets, email, documentation, or other channels we make available. We may use account, purchase, license, device, error, and support information to investigate and respond to support requests.

We may decline support for unsupported versions, modified software, unauthorized copies, revoked licenses, abusive requests, or requests that require us to assist with unlawful activity.

11. Trials, refunds, and cancellations

If trials, refunds, cancellations, or promotional offers are made available, they are subject to the terms shown at the time of offer or purchase. Unless a specific refund policy is posted or required by law, purchases of downloadable software may be final once payment is verified, the license is issued, or the protected download is accessed.

This section does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

12. Intellectual property

The website, software, logos, branding, documentation, designs, code, download systems, update systems, license systems, and related materials are owned by PC Web Systems LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other laws.

No ownership rights are transferred to you except for the limited license expressly granted in these Terms.

13. Third-party services

The website and software may rely on third-party services or components, including payment processors, email providers, hosting, security, tunnel, operating system, browser, signing, analytics, and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies.

14. Security

You may not test, scan, attack, interfere with, or attempt unauthorized access to the website, accounts, servers, APIs, downloads, update systems, license systems, payment flow, or support systems. If you believe you have found a security issue, contact us responsibly at [email protected] and do not exploit, disclose, or misuse the issue.

15. Changes to the website, software, or terms

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the website, software, accounts, downloads, update services, support services, pricing, features, or these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to accounts, licenses, downloads, updates, support, or the website if we believe these Terms were violated, a payment was reversed or fraudulent, a license was abused, a security risk exists, or termination is required to protect users, PC Web Systems, service providers, or the public.

Upon termination, you must stop using the software and protected services unless we state otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.

17. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, software, downloads, updates, documentation, and support are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We do not guarantee that the software or website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every system, or suitable for every use case.

You are responsible for backing up your files, verifying recordings, maintaining sufficient disk space, testing settings before important recordings, and complying with applicable recording laws and policies.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PC Web Systems LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost recordings, business interruption, device issues, security incidents caused by user conduct, or inability to use the website or software.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the website, software, purchase, license, download, update, or support service will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific PC Desktop Recorder license giving rise to the claim.

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PC Web Systems LLC from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website or software, your recordings or shared content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
